Article Abstract

Letter to the Editor

Sir: Several studies have suggested that Hypericum perforatum (St. John’s wort) is efficacious for the treatment of mild-to-moderate depression. Most of these studies involved short-term treatment of an acute depressive episode. There are no extensive data from studies on whether Hypericum is an efficacious maintenance treatment for depression.
