Sir: Oxcarbazepine is an anticonvulsant with similar chemical structure to carbamazepine.1 Oxcarbazepine is not only effective in epileptic therapy, but also useful in the treatment of refractory bipolar and schizoaffective disorders.1–5 Compared to carbamazepine, rare hematologic suppression side-effect had been reported with oxcarbazepine treatment.6–8
