Article Abstract

Suicide is a serious and complex public health problem. Health care providers, including bothpsychiatrists and primary care physicians, are just beginning to understand the intricacies involvedin suicide and its prevention. Suicide rates continue to rise, making the education of the publicand physicians regarding awareness and prevention, recognition of a wide range of risk factors, andresearch into suicide prevention strategies very important.
