Severe personality disorders are at the top of the list for many clinicians when asked which group of patients are the most challenging to treat. These challenges often result in clinicians’ questioning their skills or feeling resentful toward the patients. Although personality disorders as a group are fairly prevalent in the general population, little attention is paid to them and how they affect the delivery of medical care.​
