Psychiatric disorders can co-occur with seizure disorders
but can also be secondary to structural lesions in the
brain. These lesions are directly responsible for both the
epileptic focus and psychiatric symptoms. Psychoses associated
with seizures are among those of major concern to
both psychiatrists and neurologists.1
