The current article reports the results of a 1 year study with schizophrenia patients who received treatment with a long-acting formulation of the antipsychotic aripiprazole. Patients enrolled in the trial were first switched from their current medication to oral aripiprazole, if they were not already taking it, and then they were switched to long-acting aripiprazole for up to a year.
