Drs Yatham and Maj have edited a comprehensive textbook that covers thestate of the art of what we know about bipolar disorder, entitled Bipolar Disorder: Clinical and Neurobiological Foundations. The textbook is ambitious in that it encompasses a broad area ofsubject matter ranging from epidemiology to clinical care toneurobiology. The textbook opens with 8 chapters, each relatively brief, describing the history of bipolar nomenclature and the general clinical presentation and epidemiology of the condition.
