Article Abstract

Letter to the Editor

Sir: We read with interest the recent article by Lindenmayer et al. concerning the comparison of clozapine versus risperidone in 35 treatment-refractory schizophrenic patients. In the 12-week open-label study, both medications were effective across a wide spectrum of psychopathologic measures, with clozapine being numerically superior to risperidone. In addition, clozapine was associated with fewer extrapyramidal side effects.
