Article Abstract

Letter to the Editor

Sir: We are pleased to reply to the letters sent to you by Dr. Peterson and the EMDR International Association Research Committee concerning the issue of treatment selection for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as reported in the Expert Consensus Guidelines. The letters expressed concerns that the guidelines may be at odds with their clinical experience of the efficacy of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) because this treatment was not included as a first-line treatment for PTSD.
