Article Abstract

Because this piece has no abstract, we have provided for your benefit the first 3 sentences of the full text.

The use of psychotropic drugs in children and adolescentshas grown exponentially in the past decade, with most drugsused not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administrationfor use in the pediatric population. Based on published literature includingbasic science, clinical trials, case reports, and clinicalexperience, the Clinical Handbook of Psychotropic Drugs forChildren and Adolescents is a recent addition to the small armamentariumof available handbooks assisting in informed decisionmaking when prescribing psychotropic drugs for childrenand adolescents.’ ‹
