Mind, Brain, and Schizophrenia

Article Abstract

From our regular book review column.

Are we making progress in our search for the causes ofschizophrenia? If so, are we doing so by starting with genes andmolecules (bottom-up approach) or with brain-based models ofabnormal mental states (top-down approach)?

These are the questions that Peter Williamson, the TannaSchulich Chair in Neuroscience and Mental Health at the Universityof Western Ontario, pursues in his book Mind, Brain, and Schizophrenia.
