José Manuel Goikolea, MD, has published extensively on bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder between 2002 and 2012. His work includes studies on antidepressant-induced mania, neurocognitive impairment in bipolar patients with psychosis history, and clinical trials of adjunctive treatments such as gabapentin and amisulpride for bipolar disorder. He has also investigated psychoeducation efficacy and compared antidepressants paroxetine and venlafaxine in bipolar depression. Frequent collaborators include Eduard Vieta and Francesc Colom.
