Preben Bo Mortensen, DMSc, has contributed to research on major depressive disorder, mood disorders, and suicide, with a focus on risk factors and mortality associated with psychiatric conditions. Mortensen's work includes epidemiological studies from Danish population-based cohorts examining unipolar and bipolar disorders, schizoaffective disorder, and schizophrenia, as well as investigations into postpartum mental disorders and suicide risk trends. The author has frequently collaborated with Thomas Munk Laursen, Merete Nordentoft, Trine Munk-Olsen, Carsten Bøcker Pedersen, and Esben Agerbo.
