About
Risë B. Goldstein, PhD, MPH, has contributed extensively to the epidemiology of addiction and violence-related psychiatric disorders. Her publications focus on topics such as nicotine use disorder, nonmedical prescription opioid use, and the relationships between substance use and mood or anxiety disorders. She has also studied the prevalence and comorbidity of personality disorders including schizotypal, narcissistic, and borderline personality disorders, as well as the association between violent behavior and psychiatric conditions. Her research draws on data from large epidemiologic surveys, including the National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions.
