What the Podcast Offers
Each episode features thoughtful dialogue with clinicians and researches whose work is advancing understanding of psychiatric disorders and treatment. The topics reflect the breadth of modern clinical practice from emerging therapeutics and clinical-trial design to diagnostic complexity, evolving evidence, and real-world care considerations.
Episode 1 – “The Mission of JCP” with Marlene P. Freeman, MD
In the inaugural episode, Everett talks with Marlene P. Freeman, MD, longtime JCP Editor-in-Chief and a leader in women’s mental health and academic psychiatry. Their conversation explores the core mission of the journal: delivering peer-reviewed, clinically relevant research in a way that supports busy mental-health professionals. They discuss peer review, emerging treatments, and the rise of digital therapeutics. They also explore how scientific rigor, shared decision-making, and diversity in research can guide better patient care.
Built for Busy Clinicians
The JCP Podcast offers accessible, evidence-informed conversations for psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician associates, and primary care clinicians. It’s one more way we help keep them connected to new thinking without requiring deep dives into dense literature.
