The patient is a 65-year-old white woman, marriedfor 35 years to an accountant. They have 5 grownchildren and 12 grandchildren. She taught elementaryschool for 28 years and has not worked since retiring 15years ago. Her mother suffered with hypertension anddied of a cerebrovascular accident 10 years ago at age 81.Her father died after a heart attack more than 30 years agoat age 55. She has 2 younger sisters, aged 61 and 59 yearsold, who are basically in good health.
