Sir: Bipolar II disorder is a valid and reliable diagnosis1,2and its prevalence in society is higher than was onceassumed.3 Considering the fact that the main clinical presentationof bipolar II disorder is composed of depressivesymptoms and the fact that the retrospective diagnosis ofepisodes of hypomania is often difficult,4 there has been anincreased concern about the underdiagnosis of bipolar IIdisorder in clinical practice in recent years,5,6 and suggestionshave been put forward in order to reach correct diagnosis.4
