YT, a patient whom I have been successfully treating for depression for over ayear now, brings in her 15-year-old daughter today. Over the past 2 years, whatwas a close relationship has deteriorated into frequent yelling matches, blatantlying, and running away from home for a day or two at a time. The daughter’s friends have all changed, and her grades have fallen from the summit of thehonor roll to the valley of despair—she has failed the 10th grade.
