About
Marc De Hert, MD, PhD, has contributed extensively to research on schizophrenia spectrum disorders, bipolar disorder, and associated metabolic complications. His publications focus on topics such as the metabolic side effects of antipsychotic treatments, prevalence and predictors of type 2 diabetes in psychiatric populations, and the evaluation of screening methods for metabolic abnormalities. De Hert’s work also examines the interplay between psychiatric diagnoses and metabolic disturbances, as well as the clinical challenges of managing comorbid somatic illnesses in patients with severe mental disorders.
