Maria Kovacs, PhD, has published research focused on child and adolescent psychiatry, with particular attention to depression and suicidality in youth. Her work includes analyses of somatic complaints and symptom presentation in childhood depression, responses to depressed mood and suicide attempts in young adults with childhood-onset mood disorders, and clinical features of suicidality in depressed children and adolescents. Kovacs has collaborated frequently with Ágnes Vetró, Amy L. Gentzler, Charles J. George, Enikő Kiss, and Xianchen Liu.
