About
Tarja K. Melartin, MD, PhD, has published extensively on depression, particularly major depressive disorder (MDD), and suicide. Her work explores topics including the stability of comorbid personality disorder symptoms in MDD, predictors of diagnostic switching between unipolar and bipolar disorders, and the long-term outcomes and comorbidities associated with mood disorders. She has contributed to studies on suicidal ideation and attempts among psychiatric patients with MDD, as well as the clinical challenges in treating depression within psychiatric care.
