Sir: The issue of ethnopsychopharmacology has been receivingincreased attention lately. One study showed significant differencesin treatment response in schizophrenia between variouspopulations,1 but data on the subject are sparse, particularly fornewer antipsychotic drugs. We report on a patient of African descentwho developed intolerable side effects in response to ziprasidone,a recently approved atypical antipsychotic medication.
