Sir: Gabapentin is a newer anticonvulsant approved for useas an adjunct agent in the treatment of partial seizures with orwithout secondary generalization.1 Recent publications indicatethat gabapentin has been useful in a wide array of psychiatricconditions including anxiety disorders,2 alcohol withdrawal,3 bipolardisorder,4 behavioral disorders,5,6 and even antidepressantinducedbruxism.7 Although its exact mechanism of action isnot known,1 it is structurally related to g-aminobutyric acid(GABA), but does not interact with GABA receptors.8
