To the Editor: Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a chronic psychiatric disorder characterized by recurrent persistent thoughts (obsessions) or repetitive compulsory behaviors (compulsions) that produce anxiety or distress, are time consuming, and cause significant socio-occupational dysfunction. Prevalence of OCD across various studies was found to range from 2%-3%. About 30% of patients with OCD do not respond to traditional treatment.
